Benevolent or Malevolent by Elektrocity Benevolent or Malevolent by Elektrocity
A picture of Flippy including both sides of his sanity. Of course Flippy has two sides, one is cute and normal and the other is bloody and psychopathic. Of the two sides I'm choosing, I'd prefer the former, the lighthearted side of Flippy. Some might prefer the dark side, some prefer both, some prefer neither (either disliking Flippy or HTF in general), or some never even heard of Happy Tree Friends.

About Flippy, let's describe both of them, starting with his benevolent side. The phase Flippy is normally in is extremely sweet, fun-loving, and presumably childish, especially acting all girly and stuff, I mean look at his bedroom, girly isn't it? Anyway, the lighthearted side is also very hug-able, loveable, and largely docile. When he flips out, he turns to a psychopathic serial killer with a very creepy, blood-thirsty face of evil. You better watch out for him because he's gonna get you and murder you. The nickname for his malevolent side is known as Fliqpy (or Flipqy, either way).

The pose for the light side is okay, but I think the dark side's pose turned out pretty awkward, especially the bottom half of the evil one's body. Actually, I think the picture came out quite out of place, but the background I know I did good on it, especially the gradients. I also tried a detail to the knife to make it looks more like a shiny metal blade, same would go to his dog tags.

So, you get the picture.

I'm not too sure as to how to critique this. The characters are well done, especially the emulation of the style. Unfortunately I don't feel like you are bringing much originality to the table since you are using pre-made characters and style: the only thing you are really showcasing is your ability to copy, which is nice, but not very impressive. I would also recommend less vibrant backgrounds since they are really too eye-catching. Also adding a shadow could help ground the characters.

Thank you.

Actually, I really drew the HTF style precisely, so yeah, I mastered the HTF form ... almost.

Thanks, but I didn't mean to copy anything you know, that character in this picture is Flippy, a canon character from the show, same goes to his dark side.

Actually, the background fits perfectly for both sides as well as the border that separates the picture in half. Therefore it was meant to have a background like that.

Thanks, but no thanks, I left the shadow out on purpose.

Anyway, thanks for the critique.
